Center Volunteer Trades Birthday Presents for PCC Donations

Wednesday, September 18th was another annual birthday dinner for one of our center volunteers, Connie, and five of her closest friends. What made her birthday extra special was that she no longer wanted gifts for herself, but asked for donations for Pregnancy Care Center (PCC).

“Everyone at the restaurant thought I was this old lady having a baby,” Connie joked.

Connie and her friends have been giving each other charitable donations for their birthdays for four years now. Each year, Connie asks for specific items that she knows are needed for two organizations dear to her heart: PCC and the Humane Society. This year she asked for soy formula, certain size diapers and wipes because she knew those items were most needed at PCC right now.

“I get a lot more satisfaction out of giving than receiving,” Connie said.

It is compassionate and dedicated volunteers such as Connie that have helped to build our ministry to the successes of today. Thank you, Connie!
