Author Lori Borgman recently posted an article on her website that we must give props to. In the article, Borgman connects a pop culture event to something we should all be a bit more protective of: parenthood.
Being a parent is not easy, we can easily agree on that. Yet sometimes it is easier to be a friend to your child rather than being a parent.
"We're an odd lot," Borgman says. "We strive to give kids the best schools, the best experiences, brag that they're talented and ahead of the curve, yet shrink from asking basic questions that reveal whether they can follow simple logic."
To be the best they can be, our children need to grow -- physically, mentally, spiritually, socially and emotionally. If we do not seek to challenge our children, to protect them, yet teach them, then what favors are we doing? Read Borgman's entire article here and share your thoughts.
