Saturday, September 21st was the annual Walk For Life fundraiser for PCC-SCI. While the fundraiser took place in Columbus, Goecker was able to get pledges from donors as far away as Minnesota, and the majority of the pledges she received were less than $100. For the past eight years, Goecker has been a faithful fundraiser and participant in the annual Walk For Life event, raising a total over $52,800!
“I just have a lot of people that give every year,” Goecker said. “And I couldn’t do it if it wasn’t for all these sponsors. I call many of the same people each year, and they know why I’m calling. But I actually got 50 new sponsors this year!”
PCC-SCI is based in Columbus, where Walk For Life was held. However, the organization has centers supporting the communities in Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings and Shelby counties. PCC-SCI works to compassionately engage, educate and inspire communities with the truth regarding sexual integrity and the value of human life. It is supporters such as Goecker that enable the ministry to continue pushing forward in its efforts.
